Delicious & Healthy Granola Recipe – Perfect for the Holidays!

The holidays are a great time to whip out some delicious, yet good-for-you treats to take with you to parties! We all know that indulgent and heavy foods are featured in holiday feasts galore, so it’s always a great idea to combat all those calories by bringing something delicious and nutritious. Your other party-going friends and family members — and the hosts! — will thank you.

Here’s a tasty recipe we love here at Visions for the Art of Hair:

Quinoa Pumpkin seed Granola

Ingredients

3/4 cup UNCOOKED quinoa, rinsed and well-drained

1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds

1/2 cup slivered almonds

1/4 cup chia seeds

1/4 cup honey

2 tbsp canola oil

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp coarse salt

dried fruit, cut-up into small pieces

 

Preparation

Preheat the oven at 350°F.

In large bowl, combine quinoa, seeds, and nuts.

In a small bowl, microwave the honey for 20 seconds on high

Mix the oil, cinnamon, and salt into the honey.

Combine the honey mixture into the seeds/nut mixture. DO NOT add fruit yet!

Spread on a rimmed cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 min, then stir. Bake for an additional 7-10 min, until lightly browned.

Keep on cookie sheet and add dried fruit. Mix.

Let cool on cookie sheet before serving.
